Byting Bulldogs' Tenth and Eleventh Year
Due to COVID-19, the 2020 season was cut short. Many teams, including our own, were only able to compete in one competition; however, our students worked to 3D-print headbands for face shields and dropped them off at emergency centers and drop-off locations to help during the crisis. Sadly in 2021 we also lost the practice field soon after our season ended, forcing many other teams to try and find a new spot; however, it inspired the school and community to pass a bond to set aside money for a new one on school property, making it closer and easier to get to.
The Robot, “Mantis”
Mantis has an intake released by pneumatic pistons, a flywheel shooter with an aiming hood, and a climbing elevator powered by a two-string winch.

The Game
The point of Infinite Recharge is to save FIRST City from asteroids by energizing and activating a shield generator. The game consists of power cells which are shot into power ports for points. The control panel, a brand new concept, can be spun around by the robots in order to complete tasks, such as landing on a certain color to activate the shield generator.
