The Byting Bulldogs’ Fourteenth Year
This year has been filled with historic highs! Of our 34 team members, 14 are girls, the highest number we've ever had. In addition, we celebrated 10 years with our mentor, Morgan Valdez, who’s pretty cool! We also placed TOP 3 and became captains of Alliance 3 at Worlds.
The Robot, “Two-Can Sam”
This year’s robot was named “Valdez” after our fantastic mentor, Morgan. This past year, she celebrated her 10th year mentoring the team.
It’s a swerve-drive robot meaning that all four wheels are powered, but also can rotate 360 degrees giving her super fast speed and agility. Designed to pick up rings and shoot them into the speaker, the robot had a unique design of a ground pick-up that could intake rings from the front and back. The robot also uses a changing angle to match the speaker as we move farther away.

The Game
Rapid React is played by two alliances of three teams each, with each team controlling a robot and completing specific actions to score points. The game revolves around remotely operating robots to retrieve and score Notes, shooting them onto their stage, spotlighting onstage robots by scoring high notes, cooperating with their opponents, and winning or tying matches.
